We were sitting in Sunday school today; Nathan, Evan and I. Evan had just finished his bottle and the teacher was talking about the stripling warriors when all of a sudden Evan made the biggest burp. It was so loud that everyone turned around and looked at us. Of course they all smiled when they realized the noise maker was the adorable little man on my lap, but my goodness. How embarrising.

My Diaper Bag

I went into a really cute little store last week that had a lot of really unique items. It turned out that it was a consignment shop and people make stuff to sell there. This sounded fun, so I told the lady that I made bags and she said to bring one in. I made one up yesterday and am going to take it in tomorrow. I based it on another bag pattern I have, but I altered it a bit to make it how I like it. It is the first one and always when I make something for the first time all I can see are the flaws and how I can make it better, but here it is.

Our Little Man is Growing Up! To Fast!!!!

Evan seems to have done so much growing up this week. It seems like I was excited for him to be able to scoot on his tummy and all of a sudden he can get up on his knees.

The other day I was down stairs working and he was beside me in his play pen. He was making a lot of noise so I looked over at him and he was up on his knees and rocks back and forth. He will be crawling soon. I was so excited to tell Nathan when he came home, but he saw him do it before I could tell him.

Evan was just waking up from his nap when Nathan got home from work on day and Nate went up to check on him. He came down with Evan and he had a big smile on his face excited to tell what our little man can now do.

On another day Nathan put Evan in his play pen and Evan grabbed hold of the sides and held himself up. He looks like he wants to escape.

Disgusting!!!

So I have been in Winchester three weeks now and for three weeks I have been scrubbing the kitchen floor. Usually I do it all with a rag, but this week I had a great idea to use a scrapper thing that we bought to put grout in our condo. It worked like a charm. The gunk just came right up and I was able to see how much there was. The picture below is all the stuff from a 2' X 3' piece of floor.

Evan Waking Up

When I heard Evan stirring in his room this morning I grabbed the camera and captured his morning smile. Enjoy.

I'm a Cool Dude!!

After a big day of going to the DMV for new licenses and the bank for a new account, Nathan told me that he would watch Evan while I go out and do something for a little while. I feel a little guilty, but I love these times. I can go out on the town all alone, drive where I want to go, and listen to all the new country songs up loud. So Fun!!

Of course to be the sweet little wife I responded to Nathan with the, "Are you sure?" But of course he knows me well enough to know I need this little bit of time to myself. So off I went. Windows rolled down, hair blowing in the wind...etc..etc.! Now you might wonder where does one go with this sense of freedom and reckless abandonment to which I would respond, "The grocery store of Course!" To buy roast beef, tomatoes, and Sun Drop Sherbet. Then it was off to Five Guys to bring home dinner.

For those of you who are not familiar with Five Guys, it is quite possibly the best hamburger place there is. When you walk in you are reminded of a bathroom, not that the food is unsanitary, the walls are just decorated with red and white tile that you would normally find in the bathroom. I ordered two bacon cheeseburgers and one small fry (which is not small!) and told myself I would resume my weight watchers tomorrow with increased fervor. After that I was on my way home with my batteries charged so I could once again take care off my family with complete happiness.

I was wrestling myself inside the doors with my roast beef, tomatoes, sherbet, and Five Guys when I heard Nathan's sing song voice chanting, "I'm a cool dude!" which would immediately be followed by a squeal from Evan and then giggles. My curiosity piqued, I peeked around the corner and there was the two men I love the most playing on the couch. It was so sweet that of course I had to take yet another set of pictures.

Evan can sit up!?!

Nathan's Grandma Creamer bought Evan a play pen and I put him in it and discovered he can sit up! Wow!!!

The Little Man at Home

My son loves to suck on things, anything in fact, as long as he can get it in his mouth. Sometimes when I am carrying him he will attack my chin or my nose on start sucking on them before I even realize what he is doing, he's that fast. I will be carrying him and all of a sudden he will whip his little head around and attach. He even has sound effects and facial expressions that go along with it which involves a little growl. Today his object of choice was his bouncer.

Later we took a walk and when we returned I sat his car seat on the porch while I put away his stroller. When I got back he was looking so intently at the pillars like he was trying to figure out what they were that I had to take a picture. He was smiling and cooing and then he saw the camera and decided it was a great thing to try to suck on. Needless to say there was drool everywhere!

Home Sweet Winchester

Well we have made it. Nathan made the 4 day 2,500 mile drive with his Dad and sister Sherstin and I made the 5 hour flight with a 5 month old (Evan did really well, he slept the entire time which was wonderful!)

Nathan and I are excited to be in our new home and home town. After Las Vegas, the green is a welcome sight as well as the rain. Winchester is a historic town that has been a Shawnee campground, a Quaker settlement, and a town fought over in the Civil War. It changed hands over 70 times. There is a Statue by City Hall that is dedicated to all the soldiers from the South, so it is exciting to be in a town with so much history.

Our house is beautiful, but quite dirty. It hasn't had a good cleaning for several years. We are currently engaged in our own little battle, the battle for the kitchen floor. It is covered with this black greasy junk that you almost have to have a chisel to get off, but we are getting it. So far we have half of the floor done and we have been working on it for a week and a half. Nathan and I are coming to really appreciate our house and it is satisfying to see our hard work paying off, with a clean floor.

Nathan started work yesterday and its hard to let him go. He thinks it will be a lot less stressful for him and that makes me happy. I am going to try to substitute every so often. I have an orientation to attend Thursday morning. I just map quested it and the location is about a block from my house. I am loving being able to walk to things. Nathan and I go on walks every evening. Pretty much we are loving our new homes.

Evan is doing really good. He is getting back on his routine. I think he knows he is in a different place because he just looks at things for the longest time. In the mornings when he wakes up he doesn't cry anymore. We just hear him in his room cooing and gooing and when we walk in to see him he gets the biggest smile on his face as if to say, "There you are!" We sure love him and are excited for his little life.
